"Hugs Not Drugs"
“An Effective Anti-Drug School Assembly That Teaches Courage & Being Healthy”
This Drug Prevention Assembly Program Teaches Students the Importance of What We Put in Our Bodies
Why do children start taking drugs? There are so many answers: peer pressure, self-esteem issues, curiosity, and the list goes on. But how we approach the problem is as important as addressing the problem.

What does that mean?
No lectures.
The best anti-drug school assemblies entertain the students while educating them. Unless they’re having fun, children will tune out even the most important drug prevention messages. The result? Wasted time out of classes and frustrated teachers.
An effective drug prevention school assembly needs hard-hitting messages presented in a fun way.
Enter my “Hugs Not Drugs” school assembly show. This show will captivate your students from the youngest to the oldest. But I wouldn’t expect you to believe me without proof.
Check out what a past client had to say about my programs:
"Such a great program with Miss September Cardiff and her friends !!! At Bullitt County Public Library (Mt Washington)....Poor Chicken, "you're not a parrot! We love you Miss September! - Amy Morgeson, Bullitt County Public Library
That’s not the only one. Not by a long shot. As you explore my site, you’ll see a plethora of other comments from school principals, teachers, and parents.
How the “Hugs Not Drugs”
School Assembly
Tackles This Important Topic
The overall message in this school show is being aware of what you put in your body. Put good stuff into your body and it’s like giving yourself a hug, ‘cause they make you feel good in the right way. For younger grades like PreK-3rd, I focus on being healthy, exercising, and treating your body right.

And I remind these little ones to stay away from things in the medicine cabinet, under the sink, and other places where they might find things.
But I’m realistic. I know for older kids, peer pressure is definitely a thing. So for grades 4 and 5, I help these kids understand what peer pressure is, how to be aware of it, and most of all, how to make the right choices.
I know what you’re thinking: “Gee, September, this sounds kinda lecture-y.” I get it. This is a serious topic. But I get these messages and lessons across in fun ways.
Here is What Your Students Will See &
Experience During “Hugs Not Drugs”
This show is fast-moving and very fun. Here’s just a sample of what your kiddos will see and experience:

-
My puppet Braveheart the Lion helps kids use their inner courage to make the right choices
-
My puppet Mooove-A-Bull makes objects we can exercise with magically appear
-
I get the entire audience to sing and dance to the peanut butter song!
-
The entire show is accented by funny costumes, custom songs I created and recorded, and tons of join-in fun for the entire audience!
-
And MUCH more!
Unlike many school assemblies on drugs, I don’t just use one skill like magic or juggling. Instead, this is a variety show, with ventriloquism, kid-friendly comedy, singing, magic, and more!
