First, the focus is on fun, not scares. This program is designed for grades PreK-3rd grade. While there are plenty of spooky things happening, there is nothing scary or terrifying. And I adjust the content of the show for the ages attending.

The big star of the show is my puppet Batty Bob (I know, it’s in the title!). He shares his new love: telling jokes from his new joke book! But there’s more. A LOT more. There’s magic-filled mayhem galore!

We have magic potions, spooky eyeballs, appearing spots and bats, a talking Frankenstein that blows the kids away, and so much more.

Halloween Characters – Yup, I dress up in a pretty elaborate Halloween costume even if I do say so myself. But I’m not the only character. The star of the show, as I mentioned, is Batty Bob. Yes, he’s a puppet. And yes, even the older kids will love Bob’s antics!

Spooky Songs – Okay, maybe they are not so spooky. But I write and sing my own songs! Your kids will love hearing these silly songs, singing along with me, and getting in on the action. Speaking of…

Join-In Fun & Audience Interaction – Kids love helping out during my shows! I use a LOT of volunteers to get as many kids involved as possible. They’ll feel great and be the heroes of the show!

Yes! I have created a fun reading-themed version of this show. It’s called “Batty Over Books.” It’s one reason I named my bat Bob. His name is an acronym for ‘batty over books.’

When presenting this as a reading show, the fun, laughter, and antics are just as amazing and hilarious. I also stress the importance of reading, refer to specific books, and motivate your students to check out books.

It’s perfect for any reading incentive your school is hosting. “Batty Over Books” doesn’t have to be just a Halloween show. Use it for PARP, Read Across America, or any time of the year your school wants to get students…well, batty about books!
